Mass Readings: http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/021019.cfm
As human beings, we are naturally imperfect and are often faced with doubts that we are worthy of His grace. The readings are such a beautiful testament of preparedness, humility, and purpose.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” “Here I am,” I said; “send me!”Isaiah 6:8
Prayer is so important to us. Through purposeful prayer, we allow ourselves to be open to the Holy Spirit to give us the strength and the wisdom to reach out to those around us who are in desperate need. We are called to be fishers of men. In the context of today’s readings, you understand the purpose that Jesus is asking of his disciples. How are we called today in our daily lives to do the same? Are we open to His call? This is very much a “role call” for everyone. Are we doing what we needs to be done in our lives to prepare ourselves so that when the opportunity calls and a moment presents itself; are you ready to affirm and exclaim, “Here I am, send me!”?
